The teacher who made a difference in my life was Mrs. Pagan. She was my piano teacher from the ages of five to thirteen. Mrs. Pagan made me love music. She was always patient and kind with me. She knew the perfect thing to say to encourage and support me and get me excited about learning music.
I did not realize what an impact Mrs. Pagan had on me until I began teaching music myself. I find myself trying many of the techniques she used with me to get children to understand and appreciate music.
Mrs. Pagan is outstanding example of an extraordinary music teacher and I can only hope that, one day, I inspire students as much as she inspired me.
