Teacher Love

I was living in teen angst, just sick about who was part of the ”in crowd” and why some of my friends had joined it and left me behind. I was lonely. I was a good student, and when I got three answers wrong on a test, Mrs. Costa Jones noticed it. She was busy, aren’t all teachers? But she asked me to stay after class and showed me the test, saying, ”Kim, you know this stuff, this is not like you. What’s wrong?” Being able to talk to her, when I couldn’t talk to anyone else, was so wonderful. It was only a few points on a test, but she noticed and she took the time to talk to me about it. And I still remember it. Thank you Mrs. Costa-Jones.
